Allett 17" QC Aerator Cartridge Description
The 17" 'non-driven' Aerator cartridge penetrates the soil with tiny holes, facilitating easier passage of air, water, and nutrients to the roots. This is advantageous because it encourages deeper root growth, which results in a healthier, thicker, and more lush grass.
Additionally, the aerator helps water penetrate the soil profile and reduces soil compaction. Overly solid particles in compacted soil might inhibit the soil from absorbing the nutrients it needs to thrive. Since nothing stands in the way of that process, aerating your lawn prevents the roots from going without water.
Your grass may be begging for aeration if it dries out easily. Give your lawn some breathing room if you take off a tiny section of it that is 4 inches deep and the thatch layer is more than half an inch tall.
NOTE: This cartridge is not an aggressive aeration tool and will only penetrate 5mm deep. It works best on surfaces that are well-maintained, clear of thatch, or cut below 20 mm, and is only intended to minimally penetrate the surface in order to break up surface crust.
