The Allett Evolution series is designed to accommodate the 34" Turf Rake (E). It is a highly useful instrument that can do much more than just take off lateral growth and clear dead grass and moss. After football games, it can be used to remove player footprints and broken grass blades from the pitch. It has grown to be one of our most popular cartridges to date because of its larger tines for better collecting.
The earth cannot absorb vital substances like water, oxygen, fertiliser, and minerals because of thatch. Imagine investing a lot of money in fertiliser, only to have it sit on top of the thatch level and then get washed away by the next downpour.
Thatch may also promote the growth of diseases like fusarium and red thread.
According to our opinion, if there is more than 1/4 inch of thatch, something needs to be done. Significant thatch effects are present on high-performance surfaces. Poor thatch conditions, for instance, could have an impact on the ball's smoothness and speed. The emphasis in modern sports is on speed. It might also affect the measured cleg bounce of the ball.
