The STIHL KMA 140 R is a high-performance, battery-powered Kombi engine built for professional users tackling demanding gardening, landscaping, and grounds maintenance tasks throughout the day. As the successor to the KMA 135 R, it forms part of the STIHL AP System, delivering powerful performance with low noise emissions. This makes it an excellent choice for working in noise-sensitive environments such as schools, hospitals, and residential areas.
Powered by a 36 V lithium-ion battery, the KMA 140 R combines quiet operation with exceptional efficiency and power. It is capable of handling a wide range of jobs, including pruning, trimming, mowing, clearing, and cutting. The unit is compatible with all STIHL KombiTools (excluding the FSB-KM), allowing attachments to be changed quickly and easily by simply inserting the chosen tool into the shaft and securing it in place.
For greater comfort, the KMA 140 R features a redesigned loop handle with a quick-adjust mounting system, enabling the handle position to be easily tailored to suit the user. This provides a more ergonomic working position while also improving manoeuvrability when working on slopes, around trees, or across uneven ground.
The KMA 140 R is equipped with a powerful brushless EC engine and an updated control handle with separate switches for starting the machine, selecting the speed level, and operating the HMI module with LED display. Three speed settings allow you to match the tool's performance to the task at hand, while an integrated energy-saving mode helps extend battery life when charge levels are running low.
A newly designed compact engine unit with a metal mesh filter enhances cooling, contributing to longer service life while remaining easy to clean and maintain. The KMA 140 R is also IPX4-rated, making it suitable for use in all weather conditions.
The KMA 140 R is compatible with the full range of STIHL AP batteries, with operating times varying depending on the attachment in use. The AP 500 S battery provides the longest runtime but is also the heaviest option. For extended tasks such as hedge trimming, a lighter battery may offer improved comfort and reduced fatigue while still delivering ample performance.
